This year, she asked for a cake with flowers and butterflies on a blue sky...this is what she got. . .not as cool as last year, but it was a carrot cake. . .yummy (surrounded by chocolate cupcakes with buttercream frosting. . .also super delish). We were so happy to have grandparents and aunts, uncles and cousins come help us eat it all and celebrate with us.
This is Eliza's birthday present from us..... a new bedroom (to share with Naomi) complete with a new custom bed. Unfortunately, as you can see it is not finished... we have been a little slammed (BUSY!) lately and so we spent Saturday trying (in vain) to build (start and finish) her new captains bed. I am halfway through painting the crib and baby dresser and now we are half way through Eliza's bed project too!! Eliza is such a good sport she was happy anyway. It will be pretty cool when it is done.
It was such a nice day that we decided to let the kids out of their usual forced Sunday afternoon nap and go on a walk together. Our neighbors, the Edwards, gave Eliza this Easter Lily for her birthday and that just rounded out the day perfectly for her.

Happy Happy day to Eliza! She is a great kid! We love her! Yes please let's not rush growing up. It goes way too fast as it is.
