Photo Shoot at the old tire graveyard

My bestest friend Sara came with her fancy camera. . . so we found an interesting spot to play around with some family photos. I really love how some of them turned out.

Empathic Human Nature

Finally someone can explain what I have been trying to say for so long. . . it just happens to be a Jeremy Rifkin (famous philosopher guy) who maybe knows a little more than I do ;). I can't help my search for the good society. . .a fascinating way to think and learn.

If only people would let go of the weird assumptions that people are naturally evil, competitive, and aggressive. . . .think of what we could all become!!!

Summertime!!

Well it is clearly summertime at our house, as evidenced by the fun times going on with our neighbors and friends.

Sometimes I see some interesting collaborations, and sometimes I even have some real help.

N spends most of her wake time taunting us on the playset. She has no fear and can be pretty darned determined. She laughs at our attempts to keep her on the ground. Usually she just climbs over the gate, but this time she actually got the gate off before climbing. What can I say, she REALLY loves the slide! It will be a long summer of chasing her.
But, we are pretty happy to have an excuse to spend our days OUTSIDE! Let the picnics begin!!

The coolest new thing. . . cupcake bling!!!!

I was looking for something fun to have for party favors, so I hit up my super creative sister in law who makes the coolest cupcake toppers. She sent me some of her new creations all the way from Texas, and they were a hit.
I only had to glue one of them back together.I am now scheming for more applications. . . there are so many options.
Check 'em out!! Miss M's Cupcake Creations this one is one of my favorites. . .I know who I wanna send this one to. . . .

A new look at parenting (and the minivan life)

I just can't help it. . .I keep watching these and LAUGHING. Kind of makes me think of a Christopher Guest movie for people living my life.

Swagger Wagon Commercials

Thanks to Marnie for showing me the fun (as always).

The weather has warmed. In my life this means that we change from indoor house projects to outdoor ones, since we ALWAYS have something we are trying to improve around here. In an effort to be better neighbors (and improve our status as the 'shame of the neighborhood'), we spent the last few days trying to get a handle on the perpetual, ubiquitous dandelion problem.

First, I bribed the kids to pick all the yellow flowers that they could see . . . and their hands turned yellow and they made significant progress toward filling my wheelbarrow. . . Meanwhile, I started digging them all up. I am not sure we really had a lawn at all. It mostly consisted of the dandelion. Everytime I close my eyes this is what I see.Our yard was not famous for the lush grass before, but when I was through taking out the weeds it looked even worse. I have to admit I wasn't exactly surprised, but it was still shocking to see.
I thought this was a pretty good start. . .but I ended up filling this thing at least 5 times before I was 'through.' Now I know why I put it off for nearly 4 years. Once I started, I could not stop for about 3 days. I only suffered the usual aches from bending and kneeling and stooping, a bruise in my palm and an impressive blister.

We transplanted the sod that we cut from the front yard to the back, once I finished my prep work. . .it looks so much better and I have hope that we will save ourselves some of the mud of last summer.

And now the real projects begin!!!!

Holiday Fun

Since it is Spring Break, General Conference, and Easter all at once here are the mixed up pictures. The kids have had a great time having sleeping parties in the boys room. ANY excuse the get the sleeping bags out and not have a firm bedtime is great. Ironically, E is probably getting better sleep with her brothers rolling into her than in her regular bed (with her sister who still screams half the night).
You can imagine what happened to these cute bunny ears. . . .

E makes a pretty pretty flower. . .

Easter gifts provided plenty of fun things to do to keep the kids preoccupied so that Mom and Dad could listen to conference.

The bubble wars were the most exciting of all.
